Job summary

AutoZone in Memphis, TN seeks a Sr. Systems Engineer to lead Generative AI initiatives across the enterprise. You will drive the deployment of AI products, coordinate cross-functional teams, and bring the first market-ready version from concept to production.

You will train, fine-tune, and deploy LLMs on proprietary data, build RAG-based chatbots, and apply vector-based retrieval with Elasticsearch/Solr to optimize operations and decision making.

Qualifications

• Must have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 7+ years of machine learning experience with focus on information retrieval, NLP/NLU, and LLMs.
• Experience with traditional keyword-based search and vector-based retrieval systems.
• Proficiency in Python and JavaScript ecosystem (TypeScript/Node).
• Cloud experience with GCP or Azure.
• Experience with TensorFlow and enterprise-grade AI deployments.
• Experience with cross-functional collaboration across multinational teams.

Title:Sr. Systems Engineer

Duties: This Sr. Systems Engineer will use advanced techniques in generative AI, LLMs, machine learning, and cloud platforms to streamline, automate, and optimize our operations. You will lead the implementation of Generative AI products, driving the successful launch of the first version to market and ensuring alignment with the company's goals and vision. You will also train, fine tune, and deploy LLM solutions on proprietary data as well as develop and implement RAG-based chatbots, utilizing advanced techniques like query re-writing, efficient retrieval and re-ranking. Working with stakeholders throughout the organization, this Sr. Systems Engineer will identify opportunities for leveraging AI to improve business processes and collaborate cross functionally to deploy AI solutions and monitor outcomes.

Requirements: Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related and 7 years of machine learning experience, including:

• Information retrieval, Language Models, NLP & NLU, & Graph Neural Network
• Model fine tuning and reward learning
