Job summary

Amazon's Foundational AI team is seeking a passionate Machine Learning Engineer with a strong deep learning background to advance GenAI with LLMs. You will build RL Gym environments and techniques to push frontier model performance, applying large-scale data and compute to real products.

In this applied research role, you will mentor others, influence design, and collaborate across teams to deliver capabilities used by customers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience.
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Develop RL Gym environments and assess their usefulness for frontier model advancement.
• Build techniques to advance state-of-the-art with LLMs.
• Support foundational model development in an applied research role.
• Leverage heterogeneous data sources and large-scale computing resources to accelerate LLM advances.
