Job summary

Micron Technology in Clay, NY is seeking an NY Gas Systems Operations Engineer to design, commission, and operate bulk, specialty, and cryogenic gas systems for a high-volume semiconductor facility.

You will coordinate with design firms, contractors, and internal teams to ensure safe startup, reliability, and regulatory compliance, with opportunities to lead commissioning and turnover activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Experience in gas systems engineering (bulk, specialty, cryogenic) with design review and field execution support.
• Knowledge of SEMI, ASME, CGA, OSHA, NFPA standards and codes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee design, construction, commissioning, and startup of gas systems for a high-volume facility.
• Review engineering deliverables (P&IDs, specs, 3D models) for compliance with requirements and standards.
• Support construction through RFI review, submittal evaluation, field inspections, meetings, and issue resolution.
• Lead commissioning readiness, system testing, and turnover activities for safe startup of gas systems.
• Collaborate with design firms, contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to deliver reliable, compliant systems.
