Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc. Syracuse is seeking a Specialty Gas Operations Engineer to support the build, commissioning, and operation of high-purity gas systems for a semiconductor manufacturing facility.

You will coordinate gas delivery, ensure code compliance, and help integrate gas systems with process tools and utility systems. The role requires a chemical/mechanical engineering background with 3+ years in specialty gas environments, strong BIM/CAD skills, and a focus on safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field.
• 3+ years of experience in specialty gas engineering or related industrial environment.
• Experience reviewing P&IDs, specifications, 3D models, layouts, and design packages.
• Knowledge of gas delivery system design, pressure regulation, gas cabinets/panels, hazardous gas monitoring, and safety codes.

Responsibilities

• Review and validate specialty gas system build work, including P&IDs, gas panels, equipment specs, routing, 3D models, and layouts.
• Evaluate designs for flow, pressure, material compatibility, leak integrity, safety, and code compliance.
• Coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and external firms to integrate gas systems with process tools and life safety systems.
• Support construction, RFIs, submittals, field coordination, and inspections; supervise commissioning and startup activities.
