Job summary

Micron Technology is seeking an NY-based Gas Systems Operations Engineer to oversee design, construction, commissioning, and long-term operation of bulk, specialty, and cryogenic gas systems for semiconductor manufacturing. You will review P&IDs, specs, and 3D models, coordinate with partners, and lead commissioning readiness while ensuring safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical/mechanical engineering or related field required.
• Experience in gas systems engineering (bulk, specialty, cryogenic) and design review.
• Strong knowledge of SEMI/ASME/CGA/OSHA/NFPA standards and field execution.

Responsibilities

• Oversee design, construction, commissioning, and startup of bulk, specialty, and ultra-low temperature gas systems in a high-volume facility.
• Review engineering deliverables (P&IDs, specs, layouts, 3D models) for compliance with requirements.
• Support construction through RFI reviews, submittal evaluations, field inspections, and coordination meetings; resolve issues.
• Lead commissioning readiness, system testing, and turnover activities ensuring safe startup of gas systems.
• Collaborate with design firms, contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to deliver reliable, compliant systems.
