Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc. in Manassas, VA is seeking a Senior Facilities Gas Engineer to design, plan, and maintain high‑performance gas distribution for semiconductor manufacturing.

You will manage bulk and specialty gas systems, purification and analyzer setups, and ensure safety, regulatory, and environmental compliance. You’ll lead design reviews, coordinate with internal teams, and help create robust as-built documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• Ability to create clear design documents and apply innovative methods for facilities systems.
• Strong analytical skills and data-driven decision making.
• 5+ years in semiconductor facilities or high-purity gas systems (SCADA, etc.).
• Knowledge of capacity planning, risk analysis, and FMEA.

Responsibilities

• Design gas systems and infrastructure for safe operation and maintenance.
• Review equipment specs, ensure material compatibility, identify critical spares.
• Maintain capacity planning data, track loads, and prepare reports.
• Support scenario planning for manufacturing and capacity impacts.
• Provide detailed designs for new installs and infrastructure changes.
• Coordinate with consultants and teams for scope, reviews, and oversight.
• Inspect systems, assist startup/commissioning, ensure accurate as-built docs.
• Analyze systems for performance, risk mitigation, and cost savings.
