Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc. in Clay, NY is seeking an NY Gas Systems Operations Engineer to lead the design, construction, commissioning, and long-term operation of bulk, specialty, and cryogenic gas systems for a high-volume semiconductor facility.

You will guide external design and construction partners, review P&IDs and 3D models, and drive commissioning readiness, safety, and reliable system turnover in accordance with SEMI, ASME, CGA, OSHA and NFPA standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience with gas systems (bulk, specialty, or cryogenic).
• Knowledge of SEMI, ASME, CGA, OSHA, and NFPA codes.
• Experience reviewing P&IDs, specs, and 3D models with strong coordination and communication.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the design, construction, commissioning, and startup of bulk gas, specialty gas, and ultra-low temperature gas systems for a high-volume manufacturing facility.
• Review engineering deliverables, including P&IDs, equipment specifications, layouts, and 3D models to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
• Support construction execution through RFI review, submittal evaluation, field inspections, coordination meetings, and issue resolution.
• Lead commissioning readiness, system testing, performance verification, and turnover activities while ensuring safe startup of gas systems.
• Collaborate with design firms, contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to deliver reliable, compliant, and operationally ready systems.
