Job summary

The Berkshire Gas Company in Pittsfield, MA is seeking a Senior Tech Support Specialist – Engineering to provide advanced technical support for the Engineering department. You will perform calculations, review construction documents, and ensure projects comply with company standards and codes.

You will independently manage design tasks, collaborate with Engineering staff, and support Gas Operations, Construction and Marketing as needed, while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or civil engineering or engineering technology with 2+ years of technical experience in gas engineering and/or related fields.
• Associate’s degree in mechanical or civil engineering or engineering technology with 4+ years of technical experience in gas engineering and/or related fields.
• Technical High School diploma with 6+ years of technical experience in engineering and/or related fields.
• Formal training in AutoCAD is required with 1 to 2 years of experience.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of blueprints, as-builts, mapping is required.

Responsibilities

• Develop CAD construction drawing packages for projects including main installation and retirement, and manage related SAP work orders.
• Create main and service tables for each project and draft job procedures.
• Confirm gas pipe flow pressures using GasCalc software.
• Draft new regulator stations and commercial meter sets using CAD and SAP.
• Post as-built main construction and service drawings for records department as needed.
• Create new DigSafe tickets for work orders.
• Provide drafting needs for Engineering, Marketing, IT, Distribution, Production and management.
