Job summary

The Berkshire Gas Company is seeking a Gas Technical Trainer in Adams, MA to develop and deliver technical training for Gas Operations personnel. Responsibilities include creating curriculum, managing LMS, and coordinating with Subject Matter Experts to ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

You will work with Operations to assess training needs, stay current on PHMSA 49 CFR 192 and MA 220 CMR standards, and support technical excellence across the team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years in natural gas or relevant technical trade.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, instructional design, or related area.
• Technical knowledge of natural gas properties, pipeline construction/maintenance, and gas safety regulations.
• Knowledge of 49 CFR Parts 191, 192, 193 and MA 220 CMR.
• Ability to design and conduct effective training programs (instructional design, presentation skills, learning environment).
• Ability to obtain Operator Qualification tasks and 2+ years of prior training experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deliver technical training on natural gas distribution and transmission systems.
• Create and maintain training materials (lesson plans, presentations, assessments, hands-on exercises, simulations).
• Deliver classroom, field-based, virtual, and blended learning for employees and contractors.
• Assess training effectiveness and drive improvements from feedback and performance trends.
• Manage training resources and ensure materials and equipment are up-to-date.
