About the Role

Supreme Garage Door is seeking an experienced Senior Garage Door Service & Sales Technician ready to take their career to the next level. This role begins on the front lines: diagnosing systems, performing precision service, and presenting premium repair and upgrade options to homeowners.

However, this is not a static technician role. As you demonstrate technical mastery, strong sales acumen, and consistent leadership, you will transition into our Field Manager / Field Trainer track. In that capacity, you will step out of routine solo dispatching to coach technicians in real time, rescue difficult calls, lead on-site field training, and set the standard of excellence across our growing fleet.

Field Diagnostics & Technical Service

• Diagnose mechanical and electrical failures across residential garage doors, commercial assemblies, track systems, springs, openers, and access controls.
• Execute high-quality repairs, adjustments, panel replacements, and safety overhauls with unmatched workmanship.
• Perform multi-point safety inspections to proactively identify worn components, balance issues, and critical hazards.

Consultative Sales & Customer Communication

• Deliver clear, educational presentations to homeowners, explaining the "why" behind system failures and the value of preventative upgrades.
• Quote and close premium parts, complete rebuild packages, high-end openers, and full door replacements.
• Build genuine trust on every service call, ensuring 5-star customer satisfaction and repeat business.
• Collect customer payments and complete accurate digital paperwork via mobile software before leaving the job site.

Operational Discipline

• Maintain an exceptionally clean, safe, organized, and fully inventoried service truck.
• Manage accurate work orders, invoices, and job documentation inside our dispatch software.
• Communicate seamlessly with dispatchers, customer service representatives, and management to maintain schedule efficiency.

The Leadership Runway: Field Manager & Trainer Track

As you transition into field leadership, you will become the primary anchor for our technicians on the ground, with responsibilities including:

• Live In-Field Support: Serve as the go-to technical advisor, providing real-time diagnostic help and stepping in to assist with complex or escalated repairs.
• Sales & Conversion Coaching: Ride along with newer or struggling technicians to coach them through estimate presentation, objection handling, and closing high-margin jobs.
• Job Preservation & Escalations: Step into challenging customer service scenarios to de-escalate tension, resolve technical disputes, and save the sale.
• Quality Audits & Standards: Inspect completed jobs to verify that mechanical safety, aesthetic neatness, and documentation meet SGD's exacting standards.
• Onboarding & Skill Development: Conduct structured field training for new hires, running hands-on drills and evaluating performance milestones.

Required & Preferred Experience

• Trade Experience: Proven track record as a Home Services Technician (2+ years garage door experience a plus).
• Sales Track Record: 3-5 years demonstrated success in consultative upselling, in-home quoting, and closing service repair options.
• Physical Capability: Ability to safely lift and maneuver 80-100 lbs, work comfortably on ladders, and handle the physical demands of year-round field service.
• Tech-Savvy: Comfortable utilizing mobile tablets, field service dispatch software, and digital payment systems.
• Availability: Flexibility to support occasional evening or weekend demands as required by business volume.
