Job summary

INEOS Belgium is seeking a Production Engineer at Chocolate Bayou Works in Alvin, TX. You will provide daily technical support for furnace operations to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient performance.

Role requires 7+ years in process/plant engineering in chemical environments, with PSM/OSHA knowledge and strong problem-solving and teamwork skills. This is a full-time, on-site role with a focus on safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of process/plant engineering in chemical manufacturing or related sectors.
• Experience with pyrolysis furnaces in olefins facilities preferred.
• Strong understanding of PSM and OSHA/EPA regulations for chemical plants.
• Analytical troubleshooting using data and engineering principles.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Safety-focused with attention to detailed operating envelopes and standards.
• Proactive and adaptable in a fast-paced 24/7 environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day technical support for furnace operations to ensure safe, stable, and efficient performance.
• Monitor daily process conditions and troubleshoot operating and equipment issues quickly.
• Ensure compliance with PSM requirements and manage deviations.
• Maintain environmental compliance through monitoring, reporting, and corrective actions.
• Lead or support incident investigations and drive corrective actions to closure.
• Develop operating procedures and operating plans for the furnace area.
• Manage MOC and PSSR activities for safe implementation of changes.
• Support short-term optimization and reliability improvements to reduce variability.
• Provide technical leadership and training for furnace operations.
• Mentor and develop engineers and Operations personnel.
