Job summary

Contechs is seeking a Technical Specialist, Functional Safety Engineer to join our team in Southfield, MI on a contract basis. The role focuses on leading functional safety activities under ISO 26262, including safety concept development and safety case validation.

The candidate will work cross-functionally with hardware and software teams to ensure safety requirements are met, review safety artifacts, and support external design reviews.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of ISO 26262 and deliverables.
• 1+ year of SOTIF analysis experience.
• Proven track record in functional safety analyses for automotive systems.
• Experience supporting external reviews of functional safety work products.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of functional safety system requirements and decomposition.
• Review and approve HARA, safety requirements, and validation tests.
• Collaborate with hardware, software, design and validation engineers to meet safety requirements.
• Define functional safety concepts for system, hardware and software per ISO 26262.
