Job summary

Syms Strategic Group, LLC is seeking a Senior Functional Analyst for a fully remote opportunity supporting the Veterans Affairs department. You will translate business needs into clear functional requirements and manage them through an ALM tool, with a strong emphasis on Agile and SAFe practices.

Applicants should have a Master’s degree in Engineering or related field, 10 years of experience, US citizenship, and the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

Qualifications

• Strong background in software development and SAFe methodologies.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills for technical topics.
• Excellent attention to detail, customer service skills, and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience performing independent research to support complex questions.
• Advanced experience with MS Office, including Excel.
• Experience with Jira and ALM tools for requirements management.

Responsibilities

• Lead the capture of business requirements for software development teams.
• Collaborate with business users, IT and leadership to document requirements in an ALM tool.
• Manage requirements in an ALM tool and perform Agile requirement management.
• Perform analysis of user needs to determine functional, cross-functional, and technical requirements.
• Conduct user interviews and develop business process models and formal specifications.
• Work with customers, team members, stakeholders and contractors to gather and document requirements.
• Perform elaboration of user stories and backlog items and define acceptance criteria.
• Use JIRA for requirements management, testing, and defect management.
• Coordinate with Systems Engineers to assess impact on technical solutions.
• Establish product backlog and manage change control.
