Job summary

Maxwell is hiring a Senior Fullstack Engineer to shape a mortgage tech platform. You will design and ship features across Rails API services, TypeScript/Node services, a GraphQL gateway, and React frontends.

You will own external integrations and multi-step workflows while leading design and mentoring engineers. You will collaborate with product, UX, and support teams, apply AI-assisted tooling daily, and uphold security, reliability, and scalable architecture across a multi-tenant, regulated

Qualifications

7+ years building and running production web apps.
Proficient in Ruby on Rails (API-only services, ActiveRecord).
Strong React/TypeScript frontend experience.
GraphQL experience (Apollo) on server and client.
Experience with distributed, event-driven systems and third-party integrations.
Security and multi-tenant data isolation awareness.
Proficient in AI-assisted development and tool usage.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain features across Rails API services, TS/Node services, GraphQL gateway, and React frontends.
Own integrations with external platforms (LOS, mortgage providers), including data mapping, sync, and reconciliation.
Design and evolve async multi-step workflows using message queues and saga orchestration.
Lead technical design via design docs and architecture decisions.
Mentor engineers, conduct code reviews, and drive engineering standards.
Participate in on-call, incident response, and root-cause analysis.
Improve observability and CI/CD; collaborate with Support to resolve escalations.
