Job summary

SumUp is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer in Berlin to own localization tooling and systems across product, CMS, CRM and design environments. You will ship scalable solutions, embedding language checks and automations while collaborating with Web, Mobile and design teams.

The role emphasizes autonomy, end-to-end ownership and delivering across fragmented architectures. You'll work with Go, Python, or Rust, with frontend exposure to React/TypeScript, and you will contribute to a globally

Qualifications

• Strong background in backend engineering with modern language skills (Go preferred).
• Experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs in a microservices or distributed environment.
• Working knowledge of PostgreSQL and Kafka.
• Ability to translate priorities from non-technical stakeholders into scoped engineering work.
• Comfort operating across a distributed system landscape and collaborating with other teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and optimise localization solutions across product, CMS, CRM, marketing and design systems.
• Improve the localization management platform for visibility and automation.
• Embed automated language and quality checks into localization workflows.
• Enhance experience for developers, designers, marketers and content teams.
• Partner with Web, Mobile, Website, Comms Platform and other teams to enable localization capabilities.
• Explore AI and language tech to strengthen the localization stack while meeting compliance.
