Syms Strategic Group (SSG) seeks an experienced Full Stack Developer (Edifecs) for a remote position supporting Veterans Affairs (VA). This role requires strong testing expertise across manual and automated methods, with a focus on Edifecs X12 workflows and EDIFECS experience.

Qualifications

Proven track record of working on complex software projects and ensuring high-quality deliverables.
Experience in both manual and automated testing.
Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Proficiency in writing and executing test cases, test scripts, and test plans.
Familiarity with continuous integration/continuous deployment tools (e.g., GitHub Actions).
Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git and Subversion SVN).
Understanding of performance testing and tools (e.g., JMeter and Gatling).
Familiarity in languages such as Java, Python, C#, or JavaScript.
Experience with defect tracking and management tools (e.g., JIRA and Bugzilla).
Experience with COTS products and Edifecs.
Understanding of security testing practices and tools.
Knowledge of different types of testing (functional, regression, integration, system, usability, UAT).
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Understand business requirements and translate to test scenarios.
Experience with test management tools.
Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools.

Familiarity with risk-based testing, exploratory testing, and context-driven testing.
Familiarity with cloud-based testing platforms (AWS and Azure).

Responsabilités

Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test procedures to ensure information systems meet standards and requirements.
Develop test plans, test schedules, and approaches.
Write test cases and scripts and identify data for test scenarios.
Conduct walkthroughs on test case/script with various stakeholders.
Perform and lead tests of software/IT systems to ensure proper operation and defect-free state.
Verify work products using defined methods and a suitable environment.
Document and communicate test results.
Support analysis of test results and resolution of issues.
Document and resolve complex problems.
Report progress on problem resolution to management.
Devise improvements to current procedures and develop models for future configurations.
Create daily test metrics and reporting.
Occasionally perform other IT system engineering activities such as requirements, design, installation, operation, sustainment, and support.
Receive assignments and establish goals to meet objectives.
Provide direction to employees according to policies and guidance.
Measure whether objectives have been met.
Provide technical solutions to a broad range of problems.
Independently determine approaches to solutions.
Demonstrate good judgment in methods for obtaining solutions.
