Job summary

Our client, Eliassen Group, seeks a Senior Full Stack Java Developer for a remote contract role. The candidate will deliver backend and frontend features, focusing on healthcare integrations, with end-to-end ownership in a W2 setup offering comprehensive benefits.

Responsibilities include building Java/Spring Boot services, REST APIs, and microservices, plus frontend work with Angular/React and React Native. HL7/FHIR data exchange experience and Mirth Connect are valued.

Qualifications

• 7–10+ years of professional software development experience.
• Expertise in Java, Spring/Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices, and web app development.
• Front-end experience with Angular and/or React; React Native preferred.
• Strong SQL skills and relational DB experience.
• Experience with Tomcat and Docker.
• Healthcare interoperability experience with HL7 and FHIR.
• Integration experience with Mirth Connect and healthcare data transformation.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy Java and Spring Boot services, REST APIs, and microservices.
• Build and enhance web/mobile UIs using Angular/React; React Native preferred.
• Implement healthcare data exchange workflows (HL7/FHIR).
• Develop interfaces using Mirth Connect.
• Create and optimize SQL queries/schemas for relational DBs.
• Containerize and run apps with Docker and Tomcat where appropriate.
• Own features from requirements through production support.
• Collaborate with clinical teams, QA, and stakeholders to validate solutions.
• Document designs, APIs, and procedures following best practices.
• Participate in Jira-based sprint activities.
