Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking a Senior Full Stack Java Developer for remote, contract work building healthcare applications. You will develop back-end Java/Spring Boot services and front-end UIs with Angular/React, while enabling HL7/FHIR data exchange and Mirth Connect integrations.

The role emphasizes end-to-end feature ownership, collaboration with clinical stakeholders, and delivering in a fully remote environment with W2 benefits and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• 7–10+ years of hands-on software development experience.
• Expert in Java, Spring/Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices.
• Front-end with Angular and/or React; React Native a plus.
• Strong SQL and relational database experience.
• Experience with Tomcat and Docker.
• Healthcare interoperability with HL7 and FHIR.
• Experience with Mirth Connect and healthcare data transformation.
• Remote work capability and strong communication in a distributed team.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy Java and Spring Boot services, REST APIs, and microservices.
• Build and enhance web/mobile UIs using Angular and/or React, with React Native preferred.
• Implement HL7 and FHIR healthcare data exchange workflows.
• Develop interfaces using Mirth Connect and healthcare data transform tools.
• Create and optimize SQL queries and schemas for relational DBs.
• Containerize apps with Docker and Tomcat where appropriate.
• Own features from requirements to production support.
