Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Senior Manager, Full-stack Engineer to guide high-performing teams in building distributed microservices and cloud-native solutions. You will mentor engineers, set technical strategy, and drive major transformations across the organization.

You will lead multiple Agile teams, manage roadmaps, and ensure delivery of scalable systems across AWS, Kubernetes, and modern open-source tools. Strong leadership and hands-on coding may be required.

Qualifications

• BS in computer science or related quantitative field; internship excluded.
• At least 6 years of software engineering experience.
• At least 3 years of experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• At least 3 years of people management experience.
• Master’s degree and senior-level cloud/architecture experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers with deep experience in distributed microservices and full stack systems.
• Mentor engineers, stay current with tech trends, and contribute to internal/external tech communities.
• Collaborate with product managers to deliver robust cloud-based solutions used by millions.
• Lead teams using Java, Scala, Python, Go, Node.js, JavaScript, TypeScript and various databases.
• Drive multi-year roadmaps and investment priorities with architects and leaders.
• Develop leaders, build succession plans, and scale leadership across teams.
• Ensure alignment of engineering execution with enterprise goals and design high-performance systems.
