Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Senior Manager, Full-Stack Engineer to lead a portfolio of distributed microservices and full-stack initiatives. This role focuses on mentoring engineers, defining multi-year technology roadmaps, and delivering cloud-based solutions that empower millions of customers.

Expect hands-on guidance, architectural oversight, and collaboration with product, architecture, and platform teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field.
• At least 6 years of software engineering experience (Internship experience does not apply).
• At least 3 years of experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• At least 3 years of people management experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers with deep experience in distributed microservices, and full stack systems to create solutions that help meet regulatory needs for the company
• Share your passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities, mentoring other members of the engineering community, and from time to time, be asked to code or evaluate code
• Collaborate with digital product managers, and deliver robust cloud-based solutions that drive powerful experiences to help millions of Americans achieve financial empowerment
• Lead teams utilizing programming languages like Java, Scala, Python, Go, Node.js, JavaScript and TypeScript, Open Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases, Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes, and a variety of AWS tools and services
• Lead multiple Agile engineering teams or programs, providing strategic direction and ensuring delivery of large-scale, cross-functional initiatives
• Partner with product, architecture, and platform leaders to define multi-year technology roadmaps and investment priorities
• Develop and manage Lead Engineers and leads, building succession plans and scaling leadership capability across teams
• Drive alignment between engineering execution and enterprise goals, influencing portfolio-level decisions and trade-offs
• Drive end-to-end design and implementation of large-scale, distributed, or cloud-native systems with high reliability and performance requirements
