Job summary

Happy Cog is a growing interactive agency with a remote-first model seeking a Senior Full Stack Web/Mobile Application Engineer. You will contribute across Next.js/React/React Native frontends and Node.js/Laravel backends, plan with AI agents, and lead development teams on multiple client projects.

You will influence architecture, stay current with new technologies, and collaborate directly with clients and PMs to deliver high-impact web and mobile solutions.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience.
• Full stack experience across frontend and backend tools and ecosystems.
• Experience with REST and GraphQL APIs.
• Hands-on experience using AI agents for planning and development.
• Experience leading a development team or acting as a technical lead.
• Comfort talking with clients about requirements, trade-offs, and status.
• Knowledge of Git and Github in project workflows.
• Experience with AWS or other devops platforms is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build new applications, websites, and features with Next.js, React, React Native, Node.js, and Laravel.
• Plan and implement work with AI agents using our spec-driven process to settle the approach before code is written.
• Act as the Technical Lead (TL) on projects and share ownership of the project’s success, including scope vs. budget.
• Serve as escalation point for engineers, guiding code quality and architecture decisions.
• Contribute to high-level architecture planning and approach discussions.
• Handle database modeling, queries, logging and monitoring for robust apps.
• Stay up-to-date on the latest development technologies and methodologies.
• Communicate with clients and project managers to gather requirements and present status/demos.
