Job summary

customerio is seeking a senior full-stack engineer to design, build, and ship core product experiences powering a large-scale messaging platform. The role emphasizes end-to-end ownership, product taste, and moving quickly through ambiguity while balancing frontend polish with backend performance.

You will work on Go, React, and Ember features, collaborate across teams, participate in on-call rotations, and help evolve platform architecture to scale with growing customers and message volume.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience building and scaling backend services and product-facing features
• Fluency in TypeScript, React (or a similar modern framework), and a statically typed backend language such as Go
• Strong care for frontend polish, backend performance, and the overall customer experience
• Proficiency working with APIs, relational databases, and writing testable, performant code
• A bias for action over perfection, with pride in owning technical decisions end to end
• A demonstrated track record of leading complex projects, whether officially or informally

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and ship full-stack features across Go, React, and Ember that drive key customer workflows
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to turn ideas into shipped customer value
• Participate in an on-call rotation as needed to maintain the reliability of the systems you build
• Help evolve platform architecture to scale with growing customers, message volume, and use cases
• Use AI agents to make multi-file changes by scoping the work, crafting prompts, and verifying outputs
• Share knowledge and raise the bar through public-facing artifacts like short videos, thoughtful writing, and mentorship
