Job summary

Abbott Laboratories invites applications for a Senior Full Stack Engineer in Alameda, CA. You will design and implement scalable cloud-based applications, guiding the full stack from frontend to backend with a strong focus on performance and reliability.

You will mentor engineers, drive architectural decisions, and collaborate with product/design teams to translate business needs into robust technical solutions. Experience with Azure, CI/CD, and SRE principles is highly desired.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in software engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• 6+ years of professional software engineering with at least 3 years in full-stack roles.
• Deep TypeScript knowledge with advanced types and generics.
• Extensive React and Next.js experience (App Router, Server Components, API routes).
• Proven track record building and scaling DTC ecommerce platforms with payment integrations.
• Experience with cloud platforms, DevOps, CI/CD, and SRE concepts.

Responsibilities

• Design and architect scalable features for a DTC ecommerce platform built on Next.js and Azure.
• Own systems including payments, CMS integration, authentication, and workflows.
• Lead technical initiatives from design to deployment with focus on performance and security.
• Build and optimize a TypeScript monorepo using Turborepo; balance shared code and independence.
• Drive integrations with CommerceTools, Contentful, Auth0, Braze, and payment gateways.
• Establish engineering standards for testing, monitoring, and deployment.
• Mentor mid-level and junior engineers and review code.
