Job summary

Waystar is seeking a seasoned Software Engineer to contribute across the Aware platform. You will build scalable web apps and backend services using Java, NodeJS, VueJS, and AWS while collaborating with engineering, product, and business teams.

You will work with a strong emphasis on engineering excellence, best practices, and a willingness to own end-to-end solutions. The role offers opportunities to influence architecture and impact healthcare payments workflows.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science or related area.
• 7+ years of software development experience.
• Strong foundation in computer science principles including algorithms, data structures, and system design for scalable web apps and backend services.
• Solid understanding of software engineering best practices, such as version control, testing, and CI/CD.
• Experience with Java, Spring, NodeJS, JavaScript/TypeScript, and at least one modern frontend framework (VueJS/React/Angular).

Responsibilities

• Design and implement highly resilient, scalable, and performant solutions using VueJS, NodeJS, Java, AWS and more.
• Participate in technical and product discussions with leaders across engineering, product, and business teams.
• Operate with self-reliance and strong ownership, adhering to design and communication best practices.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering excellence across the team.
