Job summary

Waystar is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to contribute technically across the Aware platform. You will design and implement scalable solutions using VueJS, NodeJS, Java and AWS to tackle complex healthcare problems.

You’ll engage in product discussions with leaders across engineering, product, and business teams. You should bring 10+ years in software development, strong CS fundamentals, and a track record of engineering excellence, with independent ownership and proactive collaboration

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software development experience.
• Proven ability to design scalable web apps and backend services.
• Strong knowledge of CS principles and software engineering best practices.
• Experience with NodeJS, Java, Spring, and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Frontend framework experience (VueJS, React, or Angular).
• SQL and relational databases; REST APIs.
• Automated testing (JUnit, TestNG, Jest, Vitest, etc.).
• Familiarity with web APIs, distributed systems, Shift Left and test automation.
• Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
