Waystar is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to contribute technically across the Aware platform. You will design and implement scalable solutions using VueJS, NodeJS, Java and AWS to address complex healthcare problems while leading technical discussions with cross-functional teams.

You will bring 10+ years in software development, a strong CS foundation, and expertise in distributed systems, frontend and backend technologies, and test automation.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software development experience.
• Strong foundation in computer science principles, algorithms, data structures, and system design.
• Expert understanding of software engineering best practices, version control, testing, and CI/CD.
• Experience with NodeJS, Java, Spring, frontend frameworks, SQL, REST, and automated testing.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement highly scalable, resilient web and backend services.
• Collaborate with engineering, product and business teams on tech decisions.
• Provide technical leadership and advocacy for quality and engineering excellence.
