Job summary

Waystar is seeking a Software Engineer to contribute across the Aware platform, building scalable, resilient solutions using VueJS, NodeJS and Java on AWS. You will join a collaborative team that tackles complex healthcare problems with modern web and backend services.

You will participate in design discussions, maintain high engineering standards, and own parts of the delivery stack with minimal supervision, while communicating effectively with cross-functional partners.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science or related area.
• 7+ years of software development experience.
• Strong foundation in algorithms, data structures, and system design for scalable web apps and backend services.
• Solid understanding of software engineering best practices (version control, testing, CI).
• Experience with Java, Spring, NodeJS, JavaScript/TypeScript, and at least one modern frontend framework.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement highly resilient, scalable solutions for healthcare problems using VueJS, NodeJS, Java, AWS.
• Participate in technical and product discussions with leaders across engineering, product, and business teams.
• Show self-reliance and ownership with strong communication and design practices.
• Improve engineering excellence and code quality across the team.
