Job summary

Canopy in Utah is hiring a Senior Full Stack Engineer to help advance our practice management platform for accounting professionals. You will work in a highly collaborative squad with a PM, UX designer, QA engineer, and other engineers to research, build, test, and iterate on the best solutions for our customers.

You’ll contribute to a microservices backend and micro-frontend architecture, enabling frequent deployments and fast feedback.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience with frontend and backend work
• Proficiency in JavaScript with React
• Experience with Python/Java/Kotlin and SQL, RESTful API design
• Familiarity with TypeScript, Git, and testing frameworks for both frontend and backend
• Experience with AI coding assistants and adopting AI best practices
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Passion for building scalable, customer‑impacting solutions

Responsibilities

• Define and validate new features end‑to‑end with PM, UX, engineers, QA, and customers
• Build user‑facing experiences in JavaScript/TypeScript and React
• Design and implement REST API endpoints and microservices (Python/Java) with PostgreSQL
• Write unit tests, participate in code reviews, maintain code quality
• Own builds and deployments to staging and production with Docker, GitLab, Kubernetes
• Identify, prioritize, and resolve bugs and technical debt
• Mentor teammates and contribute to hiring and training
• Contribute to AI tooling to improve engineering quality
