Job summary

Ad Hoc LLC is seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Full Stack for a remote role supporting federal civilian clients. You will contribute as an experienced individual contributor, guiding software development, mentoring junior engineers, and shaping the program's technical direction with stakeholders.

The role emphasizes high-availability enterprise systems, modern JS frameworks, cloud platforms, and accessibility standards, with opportunities to lead and collaborate across government projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with at least 8 years of experience developing systems and applications for Federal clients.
• Enterprise-level, high-availability application development experience.
• Use object-oriented design patterns for separation of concerns, code reusability, security and performance; JavaScript frameworks React.js, Angular, and Node.js.
• Experience in developing clean, well-architected code.
• Cloud computing (Cloud Foundry, Azure or AWS).
• CI/CD such as Jenkins.
• Source Control Management (Git/GitHub).
• Strong database skills (Oracle or SQL Server) and data constructs (XML, JSON).
• Experience developing/consuming Web Services (REST, SOAP, JSON), ETL jobs and APIs.
• Experience applying accessibility standards (Section 508, WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA) and using testing tools (Axe, WAVE, Lighthouse).
• Strong understanding of testing methodologies (functional, SOA and performance).

• Maintains broad understanding of adjacent technical areas for effective integration.
• Diagnoses and resolves issues; uses incidents to inform improvements.
• Mentors junior engineers and assists in skill development.
• Communicates technical issues clearly with team and clients.
• Participates in technical interviews with new candidates.
• Proposes and evaluates multiple approaches to problems.
• May lead small teams or projects and present designs to clients and stakeholders.
