Job summary

JobCubby is seeking a senior backend engineer to design, implement, and scale core backend systems and data pipelines. You will lead end-to-end development for platform features, define architecture for identity management, security, and API integrations, and drive reliability, DevOps, and IaC across the team.

You will collaborate with product, design, and data teams in a remote-first, globally distributed environment, contributing hands-on coding and strategic problem solving.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience as a software engineer with end-to-end project leadership.
• Expertise in system architecture for scalable, reliable software.
• Strong backend foundations (Node.js) and proficiency with modern cloud technologies (AWS).
• Experience implementing secure systems, including identity verification integrations.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and scale the platform's core backend systems and data pipelines.
• Lead end-to-end development for critical platform features with emphasis on quality and performance.
• Define architecture and standards for identity management, security, and third-party API integrations.
• Champion reliability engineering, DevOps, and infrastructure-as-code practices across the team.
• Collaborate with product, design, and data teams to shape the platform's future.
