Job summary

Alkami Technology seeks a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable software systems across backend (60%) and frontend (40%) components. You will contribute to code reviews, build data pipelines with Kafka, and own features end-to-end in a remote-first US team.

You should bring 8+ years in software development (or 6+ with an advanced degree), strong Kotlin/Java OO skills, Vue.js/React/Angular experience, and proficiency with Spring Boot, Kafka, AWS, and Kubernetes.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software development experience or 6+ years with advanced degree
• Strong OO programming in Kotlin or Java; full-stack development
• Experience with Vue.js, React, Angular, Tailwind CSS
• Experience with Spring Boot, Hibernate, RESTful APIs
• Cloud Native Infra experience (AWS, Kubernetes)
• Kafka fundamentals and event-driven architecture
• Agile collaboration; proactive problem solving
• Excellent analytical and time management skills; independent delivery
• Strong written and verbal communication; cross-functional work
• Experience monitoring production systems; performance optimization
• SQL and NoSQL databases; caching strategies
• REST API best practices; security and scalability
• Testing: unit/UI/automation/integration tests
• AI-driven engineering practices in code/testing/refactoring
• On-call rotation experience

Responsibilities

• Participate in code and design reviews for reliable operations
• Develop, test, and debug applications across backend and frontend
• Write clean code for functional web applications
• Build data pipelines transforming data into Kafka streams and KLIs
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues; perform UI tests for performance
• Collaborate with engineers, designers and admins on features
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to architectural decisions
• Respond to on-call incidents and minimize downtime
• Maintain development standards and API-first approach
