Job summary

The RealReal, Inc. is seeking a highly experienced Staff Software Engineer (Full Stack) to join our Seller team in the United States.

You will design and build scalable back-ends and front-end interfaces, partnering with product and business stakeholders to optimize the seller platform. You will lead architecture discussions, perform code reviews, and mentor junior engineers while staying ahead of evolving AI coding tools to accelerate delivery and maintain architectural integrity.

Qualifications

• At least 8 years of software development experience.
• Required experience with Java and Ruby.
• Proven experience with the development, scaling, and maintenance of distributed systems.
• Solid understanding of software engineering principles, architectural design, and agile development methodologies.
• Excellent analytical abilities and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to work independently on complex issues.
• Effective communication skills, capable of conveying complex ideas clearly and concisely.
• Experience using modern AI coding tools to accelerate feature development while maintaining accountability.
