The RealReal, Inc. is seeking a Staff Software Engineer (Full Stack) to lead the architecture and deliver scalable backend and frontend solutions across our platform.

You will partner with Product and Engineering teams to align technical direction with business goals. You will perform code reviews, guide junior engineers, and drive best practices while exploring new technologies to improve performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with the development, scaling, and maintenance of distributed systems.
• Solid understanding of software engineering principles, architectural design, and agile development methodologies.
• Excellent analytical abilities and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to work independently on complex issues.
• Effective communication skills, capable of conveying complex ideas clearly and concisely.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture and development of software solutions, making strategic decisions that influence our technical direction.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to align technology development with business objectives, effectively communicating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Perform rigorous code reviews and advocate for best coding practices to ensure our products are efficient and maintainable.
• Provide guidance and support to junior engineers, fostering their professional growth and contributing to a culture of excellence.
• Research emerging technologies and trends in software engineering, identifying opportunities to enhance our projects and processes.
• Address complex technical challenges with innovative solutions, anticipating potential issues to ensure smooth project execution.
