Job summary

Edwards Lifesciences in Irvine, CA is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Applications), Full Stack to own the architecture for a web product area and lead design, APIs, and security patterns. You will drive performance, reliability, and production health while mentoring junior engineers in a fast-paced medtech environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus four years of experience or Master’s degree plus three years.
• Proficiency in React or Angular with TypeScript and one or more of Node.js, Python, Java, Go, or Rust.
• Experience designing application architecture and API contracts.
• Experience deploying on AWS or GCP with CI/CD and containers.
• Ownership of performance, reliability, and production health of end-user software.
• Strong communication and SSDLC / CI/CD / automated testing skills.

Responsibilities

• Own the application and service architecture for a web product area.
• Design state management, routing, data fetching, and design system implementation.
• Define API contracts and implement client/server sides with security flows.
• Own performance metrics and drive improvements in Core Web Vitals and latency.
• Deploy web apps on cloud using containers and IaC.
• Mentor P1/P2 engineers and participate in hiring.
