Job summary

Edwards Lifesciences is seeking a Staff Software Engineer (Applications), Full Stack, based in Irvine, CA. You will set web architecture across front end, the BFF, and supporting services, drive modernization at scale, and build reference patterns for multiple teams.

You will modernize from Angular to React and migrate BFF to Platform APIs, define cloud deployment patterns, and mentor engineers while upholding SSDLC, CI/CD, and automated testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
• 8+ years of experience or 6+ years with Master's degree
• Proven depth in web architecture and modern frontend/backend integration
• Experience migrating Angular to React and BFF to Platform APIs
• Experience designing and operating cloud-deployed applications at scale
• Ability to embed quality and traceability into SSDLC with CI/CD and automated tests

Responsibilities

• Set the web application architecture across the front end, BFF, and supporting services
• Drive modernization at scale (Angular to React, BFF to Platform APIs)
• Mentor engineers and raise the hiring bar
• Define cloud deployment patterns with containers, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code
• Partner with Platform engineers on API/gateway design and third-party integrations
• Ensure design control, traceability, and test strategy across teams
