Job summary

Astrana Health is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to own a product surface end to end and ship full-stack features from database to React UI. You will work with PMs, clinicians, and operations to translate fuzzy problems into robust designs, data models, and scalable APIs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience delivering large features.
• Four-year undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Engineering.
• Full-stack capability from the database to the browser.
• Strong TypeScript, including on the backend.
• Strong SQL: write and tune non-trivial queries and design schemas.

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture, reliability, and technical direction for a product surface or system.
• Ship full-stack features end to end, from schema and API through to the React UI.
• Decompose larger problems into work that several people can pick up in parallel.
• Design data models and integrations that survive changing requirements.
• Work with the data directly using SQL to answer eligibility and claims questions.
• Run safe schema and data migrations with rollback paths.
• Add meaningful logging, alerts, and runbooks for operations.
• Incorporate authorization, audit trails, and PHI minimization in designs.
• Mentor junior engineers and review code to teach best practices.
