Job summary

OpenAI is seeking Senior and Staff Full Stack Software Engineers to build product experiences from the interface through the services that power them. You will shape how users delegate tasks to personal agents, monitor progress, and collaborate over time.

This role blends hands-on development with the systems work needed for persistent, asynchronous agent experiences. You will own features across web interfaces and services, design data models, APIs, and the integration points with agent

Responsibilities

Build features across web interfaces, APIs, backend services, and data models.
Create workflows for task execution, progress tracking, and cross-session coherence.
Translate model capabilities into usable product prototypes with partners.
Design interfaces between product surfaces and agent execution systems.
Improve performance and reliability across the stack and handle partial failures.
Own projects from exploration through launch and iteration based on user feedback.
Help establish technical direction, testing practices, and observability as the product grows.
