Job summary

OpenAI is seeking a full stack product engineer to shape how people discover, direct, and collaborate with AI coworkers. You will own product experiences end to end, balancing intuitive frontend surfaces with robust backend systems to keep agentic workflows persistent, reliable, and useful.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional full-stack or product engineering experience.
• Track record of shipping polished user-facing products and production backend systems with ownership.
• Strong frontend skills with TypeScript and React; modern web development.
• Experience building backend services, APIs, data models, and production systems (Python, Go, Rust, TypeScript).
• Strong product judgment and ability to take ambiguous problems through execution, launch and iteration.
• Experience designing software for complex workflows, collaboration, enterprise users, or trust-sensitive environments.
• Ability to reason about asynchronous work, stateful systems, reliability, performance, and security.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and ship full stack product experiences that help people and teams delegate meaningful work to persistent AI coworkers.
• Create intuitive frontend interfaces for directing agents, reviewing progress, and collaboration on outcomes.
• Build backend APIs, services, and data models supporting persistent agent state and progress reporting.
• Develop workflows enabling agents to access context, use tools, and collaborate across surfaces and channels.
• Partner with product, design, research, and engineering to turn capabilities into cohesive products.
• Build trust with clear controls, understandable agent behavior, safe execution, and reliable foundations.
• Leverage feedback and rapid iteration to identify high-value workflows and improve AI coworker results.
