Job summary

Peraton is hiring a SR Full Stack Software Engineer to design and develop backend services for secure satellite ground communications. You will build multi-tenant cloud services, APIs, and platform components using Python and TypeScript, while collaborating with MBSE and Test teams to align requirements and delivery.

A Secret clearance is required and 14+ years of experience may apply with various degree levels.

Qualifications

• Requires degree in software/engineering or related field with extensive experience.
• Secret clearance required and must be maintained.
• Proficiency in Python for backend/API development.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, SQL, triggers, functions, stored procedures.
• RBAC/ABAC-based authentication/authorization.
• Microservice architectures and backend service design.
• Proficient in TypeScript and modern web tooling.
• Frontend development with Vite, modern frameworks, responsive design.
• Git-based source control and code review processes.
• Refining requirements into actionable designs and resolving production issues.
• Knowledge of PKI concepts and Kafka messaging.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.

Responsibilities

• Develop backend services and APIs on cloud platforms (AWS).
• Architect and implement multi-tenant backend services.
• Translate business needs into system-level technical solutions.
• Mentor team members and present designs to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with MBSE and Test teams to align requirements and models.
• Address production issues using structured diagnostics and troubleshooting.
• Ensure security, reliability, and performance of satellite ground systems.
