Job summary

Peraton is seeking a SR Full Stack Software Engineer to contribute to backend and frontend development for secure satellite ground communications. The role emphasizes multitenant cloud services on AWS, API design, and scalable, Zero Trust compliant architectures within a dynamic government-facing environment.

You will collaborate with MBSE and Test teams, mentor peers, and deliver robust backend components in Python, along with TypeScript frontend work using modern tooling (Vite).

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field with 14+ years of experience or equivalent combinations.
• Secret clearance required and must be maintained.
• Strong Python backend development experience for APIs.
• Experience with PostgreSQL databases, SQL, triggers, functions, and stored procedures.
• RBAC/ABAC authentication mechanisms experience.
• Experience with microservice architectures and backend services.
• Frontend development in TypeScript with modern tooling.
• Vite-based frontend and modern web development practices.
• Git-based source control and code review processes.
• Zero Trust software development principles.
• Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm for containerized deployments.

Responsibilities

• Build multitenant backend services on AWS.
• Architect and develop APIs and backend services with a focus on security, testing, and maintainability.
• Design software system specs from business requirements.
• Refine requirements into actionable technical solutions.
• Collaborate with MBSE and Test teams to align requirements and models.
• Mentor other team members.
• Develop backend services in Python and platform components.
• Design UI and reusable frontend components for consistent functionality.
• Develop microservices and communication patterns.
• Diagnose production issues using structured troubleshooting methods.
