Job summary

Shure Incorporated is seeking a Senior Engineer, Applications Systems Development (Full Stack) in the United States. You will design, code, test, and maintain device communication middleware for cross-platform environments including desktop, mobile, browser, cloud, and embedded systems.

The role supports remote or hybrid work from our Niles, IL Corporate HQ with collaboration across marketing, test, and systems engineering to deliver high-performance software and scalable APIs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience
• Proven experience as Node.js backend developer with TypeScript
• Remote-first culture with hybrid work and/or travel opportunities to physical sites
• Proficiency in designing and documenting Web-based APIs for asynchronous systems
• Problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues
• Understanding of OS fundamentals, asynchronous programming, multi-threading, and reactive programming
• Knowledge of software design patterns, CI/CD, testing and deployment, and unit/integration testing
• Experience with Git version control
• Experience with RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs, distributed systems, and audio/wireless product domains
• Nice-to-have: Embedded device development, C++, SPA frameworks, serverless cloud environments (AWS), IDE tools

Responsibilities

• Design and implement platform-independent device communication middleware solutions
• Develop software using agile methodologies on cross-functional teams
• Collaborate with marketing, test and systems engineering to define use cases
• Implement device communication logic in Node.js and TypeScript
• Expose functionality via GraphQL and REST APIs
• Standardize device interaction capabilities across the product ecosystem
