Job summary

Kustomer is hiring a Full Stack Software Engineer to join our Engineering team. You’ll work in a pod, ship end-to-end features, and evolve our architecture with Node.js, React, Golang, MongoDB, ElasticSearch, and AWS.

You'll help build AI-powered capabilities, improve performance, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality customer experiences. You’ll contribute across the stack, own outcomes, and mentor junior engineers while staying current with AI tools and industry

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive software development experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong ability to work across frontend and backend, and follow work across layers.
• Deep understanding of systems design, data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.
• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS and API design.
• Ability to read code, debug quickly, and add value fast.
• Ownership mindset, proactive communication, and focus on shipping.

Responsibilities

• Ship full-stack features end-to-end as part of a pod, owning scope from problem definition through production.
• Develop APIs and integrate with external services and databases, ensuring data integrity and security.
• Build front-end interfaces with focus on user experience, responsiveness, and accessibility.
• Design and build AI-powered features to improve user experience and platform efficiency.
• Collaborate with PMs, engineers, and Pod Lead on requirements, design, and tradeoffs.
• Optimize performance via caching, algorithms, and indexing.
• Write unit and integration tests to ensure quality and reliability.
• Conduct code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and uphold high quality.
• Share production support on a rotating basis, including on-call and bug triage.
• Stay current with AI tools and full-stack tech; propose improvements to velocity and quality.
