Python Software Foundation is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Engineer for a fully remote US-only role. You will join a lean engineering team tackling AI-assisted software development, moving repetitive tasks to AI, and delivering end-to-end full-stack systems with modern tooling.

The role emphasizes building scalable, maintainable code, improving workflows with AI, and mentoring teammates. Expect a 40-hour week, with equity and a competitive USD salary.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software development with production systems.
• Hands-on experience with AI coding agents as part of your workflow.
• Solid Python / Django experience.
• Solid React experience.
• GraphQL experience (Apollo Client and/or Relay).
• Comfort writing real unit test coverage.

Responsibilities

• Push the engineering org toward an AI-native way of building software.
• Improve internal dev workflows — using AI to ship faster, automate regression coverage, and maintain code quality.
• Design, build, ship, and support full-stack systems end to end.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver solutions spanning AI, modern web tooling, data stores, and backend platforms.
• Write scalable, reusable code that is easy to maintain.
• Ensure what you ship works well across browser and mobile.
• Build automated test coverage into new work as you go.
• Take part in the on-call rotation.
• Partner with architects and peers on system design and maintainability.
• Split time between new feature work and keeping existing systems healthy.
• Communicate clearly with non-engineering stakeholders.
• Mentor engineers and help set technical direction.
