Job summary

First American is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer in Santa Ana, CA, to design and deliver secure cloud-native software powering financial applications. You will collaborate across teams to implement AI-enabled capabilities using Azure OpenAI and be responsible for scalable, production-ready code.

The role requires deep Python and React experience, REST API design, and strong DevOps practices. A passion for innovation and a proactive approach to mentoring others is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience using Python and building cloud-native applications in Azure.
• Experience developing modern web applications with React and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience designing and consuming REST APIs.
• Experience with CI/CD, DevOps, and modern software development best practices.
• Experience integrating AI capabilities into applications, including Azure OpenAI, LLMs, or vector databases.
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain secure, scalable applications in an Azure cloud environment.
• Build full-stack solutions using Python, React, JavaScript/TypeScript, REST APIs, and microservice architectures.
• Modify and enhance existing applications; contribute to product delivery through coding and pull request reviews.
• Design, develop, and integrate AI-powered capabilities, including LLM integrations, RAG, agentic workflows, and intelligent automation.
• Implement and maintain AI orchestration and inference pipelines with performance and cost efficiency.
• Apply software engineering best practices to production systems, including secure SDLC and observability.
• Evaluate and prototype emerging AI tools to accelerate development.
• Ensure data privacy, security, governance, and compliance in AI-enabled functionality.
• Independently define and prioritize goals in a fast-paced agile environment.
• Collaborate with Solution Architects to align on design plans and drive durable solutions.
• Mentor engineers on software engineering best practices and AI integration patterns.
