Job summary

Teaching Strategies, an edtech company, is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to build and evolve childcare management tooling. You’ll work mainly on Python backend and web-facing features for family billing, center administration, and reporting, collaborating with product, design, QA, and support teams.

Qualifications

• 5–15+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong Python backend development, API design, data validation, and testing.
• Experience building web apps with JavaScript/HTML/CSS in a modern or legacy frontend stack.
• Experience with billing, payments, invoicing, or other high-integrity financial workflows is preferred.
• Interest in AI-assisted development and responsible AI practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and maintain full stack capabilities for family billing and back-office workflows.
• Develop backend services, APIs, and business logic in Python, following existing patterns.
• Build and improve web experiences using the frontend stack with usability and accessibility in mind.
• Make pragmatic decisions about technical debt, refactoring, and tradeoffs in billing systems.
• Partner with product, design, QA, and non-technical stakeholders to shape solutions.
• Use AI-assisted development throughout the delivery lifecycle, including planning, implementation, and testing.
• Define and evolve team practices for AI use and reusable prompts/workflows.
