Job summary

Teaching Strategies is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to design, build, and evolve systems powering family billing and back-office workflows. The role focuses on Python backend and web frontend work across invoices, payments, and reporting, while guiding AI-assisted development in a mature production environment.

You will collaborate with product, design, QA, and support teams, translating product ideas into technical plans and delivering high-availability software for childcare centers

Qualifications

• 5-15+ years of professional software engineering experience with senior-level contributions to enterprise product or service areas.
• Strong Python backend development experience, including API design, domain modeling, data validation, error handling and testing.
• Experience building and maintaining web applications with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and modern or legacy frontend frameworks; comfort with an established frontend codebase.
• Experience with billing, payments, invoicing, financial workflows or other high-integrity business systems is strongly preferred.
• Experience with AI-assisted software development is preferred, including prompt-driven implementation, AI-supported testing/debugging, documentation workflows, or agentic development tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and maintain full stack product capabilities for family billing and related back-office workflows.
• Develop backend services, APIs, and business logic primarily in Python, following existing patterns.
• Build and improve web application experiences using the existing frontend stack.
• Collaborate with product, design, QA, customer-facing teams, and non-technical stakeholders to shape solutions.
• Use AI-assisted development throughout the delivery lifecycle, including requirements analysis, planning, implementation, testing, and release readiness.
• Define and evolve AI usage practices, ensuring responsible, effective AI practices.
