Job summary

Samba TV is hiring a Senior Full Stack Engineer in San Francisco to own end-to-end work across the AI backend, Node/TypeScript services, and the React frontend. You will design across the system, extend backend services, and ensure type-safe contracts while shipping a streaming, chat-style UI.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/CE or related field; typically 6+ years of full-stack/web app development experience.
• Deep expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js, with hands-on React experience.
• Strong architectural thinking, design docs, and ability to lead frontend work when needed.

Responsibilities

• Design across the whole system, including AI/backend, service layer, and UI.
• Build on backend/AI layer, extending services and handling streaming and persistence.
• Own the Node backend-for-frontend, building endpoints and SSE streaming.
• Ship UI with streaming chat-style interface in React on SSR framework.
• Provide technical guidance, code reviews, and design decisions.
• Handle streaming, asynchronous state, reconnection, and large payloads.
• Write tests and monitor logs/traces to debug cross-cutting issues.
• Collaborate with product/design/platform engineers and mentor others.
