Confidential client in San Francisco is seeking a Staff AI Frontend Engineer who will shape AI-native workflows and enterprise UI. You will own end-to-end frontend features, from React components to API integration, while collaborating with product and backend teams to deliver scalable, intuitive experiences.

The role emphasizes building real-time WebRTC streaming, generative dashboards, and agentic UI, with a strong design sensibility and a track record of shipping rapidly in a startup setting.

Qualifications

• 6+ years shipping production-grade products, Senior to Staff level.
• Mastery of modern web technologies: React, Next.js, TypeScript, Tailwind with performance-minded code.
• AI-native developer leveraging AI tools as extensions of craft.
• Engineer first, designer by instinct; discuss Server vs Client Components fluently.
• High agency; experience as founder, founding engineer, or with significant scope at a startup.
• On the bleeding edge of AI tooling; can articulate stack changes in recent months.
• Comfortable talking to customers and sales; influence product through action.
• Based in SF or willing to relocate immediately; in-person 5 days a week downtown SF.

Responsibilities

• Architect scalable frontend systems with reusable components and patterns.
• Own and ship primary user-facing features from React components to API integration.
• Bridge AI capabilities with elegant UX, exposing powerful functionality while hiding complexity.
• Build real-time WebRTC streaming for the companion agent and generative dashboards.
• Prototype design concepts with AI in code; deliver working demos across teams.
• Shape how the team scales code review and SDLC with agents encoding architectural thinking.
