Job summary

Stitch Fix, Inc. is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Data Scientist to lead ML projects across the full lifecycle, from problem definition to production deployment. You will build systems that power personalization and recommendations using diverse data sources and cross‑functional collaboration.

You will apply deep learning, representation learning, and multimodal techniques, with an emphasis on scalable, measurable impact and reliable, production‑grade code in Python.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field required; Master’s/PhD preferred.
• 8+ years designing and deploying ML solutions, preferably in personalization or similar.
• Strong ability to write production‑grade Python code.
• Ability to independently drive ambiguous ML problems through lifecycle.
• Experience with large-scale datasets using SQL and distributed processing like Spark.
• Experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Strong evaluation and experimentation skills, with a track record of measurable impact.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, evaluate, and productionize ML models to improve personalization and recommendations.
• Advance modeling capabilities including representations, embeddings, retrieval, ranking, and assortment generation.
• Explore LLMs and ML techniques to meaningfully improve systems.
• Own the ML lifecycle from problem framing to deployment and monitoring.
• Design offline evaluations and online experiments to quantify impact and communicate results clearly.
• Work with large datasets using Python, SQL, and distributed tools.
• Build production-ready ML solutions with scalability and reliability considerations.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering to translate needs into reusable ML capabilities.
• Contribute to technical direction through design reviews, prototyping, and best practices.
