Job summary

Beacon Hill Staffing Group is seeking an experienced software developer to lead the development and support of a core P&C software system within a fast-growing enterprise environment. You will partner with business stakeholders to resolve tickets and drive ongoing development, applying production-grade coding practices and a strong customer-service mindset.

The role emphasizes data migration, UAT, and post-go-live hypercare, with extensive collaboration across IT and vendor teams.

Qualifications

• Must have 4+ years of SQL experience including queries and stored procedures.
• Must write, tune, and troubleshoot complex production queries and have relational data modeling ability.
• Must have 4+ years of full-stack software development experience, preferably with C#/.NET.
• Must have strong ownership of production applications spanning database, back-end API, and web front-end.
• Must be proficient in one modern back-end language and framework.
• Must have experience with Jira.
• Experience with ticketing systems like ServiceNow is ideal.
• Must have experience designing and consuming REST APIs and building system-to-system integrations; include authentication, payload validation, and error/retry handling.
• Must have proficiency with Git-based source control and CI/CD pipelines, including automated testing in the build.
• Must have some experience with AI prompts or AI coding assistants in daily development, and the judgment to review, test, and correct AI-generated code.
• Experience or familiarity with enterprise AI/LLM concepts: prompt engineering, hosted model APIs, tokens/context limits, hallucination risk, retrieval-augmented generation, and data-privacy constraints governing regulated insurance data is a plus.
• Experience supporting a platform implementation, migration, or major upgrade (data migration, UAT, hypercare).
• Experience working with 3rd party vendors is ideal.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to translate between technical and business audiences.
• Comfort with change-management disciplines: source control, ticketing, environment promotion, and release notes.
• Ability to respond to tickets requiring troubleshooting of the system.
• Experience with development as well as support and configuration of the system.
• Strong customer service and problem-solving skills.
• Strong workflow experience within the software platform.
• Ability to handle enhancements, planning, and upgrades of the system.
• Ability to analyze and determine root cause of issues.
• Ability to interface with internal IT teams and external vendors to resolve problems.
• Ability to work with business stakeholders and various technical teams.
• Ability to work well in a team environment and independently.

Responsibilities

• Lead the organization in developing and supporting a key core software system and work directly with business stakeholders to solve tickets and drive ongoing development.
• Develop and maintain production applications across the data layer, API, and front-end to ensure reliability and performance.
• Collaborate with internal IT teams and external vendors, communicating clearly to align technical work with business goals.
